Ken Wu
Criminal Law & General Practice Solicitor | Non-Profit Facilitator and Trainer​

Ken Wu is a lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney and a former criminal defence lawyer, known for making legal education clear, practical, and engaging.
After three years in private practice, Ken returned to UTS to teach core law subjects including Criminal Law & Procedure, Evidence, Civil Practice, and Foundations of Law. His teaching blends legal expertise with modern tech-driven approaches — earning him the 2023 Daniel Tirado Award for Teaching Excellence and recognition as a 2024 Academic of the Year finalist at the Australian Law Awards.
Ken’s mission aligns with Lawcademy’s vision: to bridge the gap between theory and real-world skills. He’s passionate about creating inclusive, low-pressure environments where students can build confidence through advocacy and hands-on learning. Since 2018, Ken has collaborated with the UTS Law Students’ Society to launch initiatives like the Bail Competition, which has broadened access to mooting and legal practice opportunities. Ken has written questions and judged finals for the UTS LSS Witness Examination and Criminal Law Moots and led UTS teams to intervarsity success in both the Nicholas Cowdery KC Criminal Law Moot (2021, 2023 and 2024) and the Gibbs National Constitutional Law Moot (2024).
Outside the lecture theatre, Ken has trained youth leaders through nonprofits like B Inspiring and AIESEC, and led the expansion of the UTS Business Mentors Program — helping hundreds of students transition successfully into university life.
At Lawcademy, Ken brings his award-winning teaching and advocacy experience to help students not just survive law school — but thrive in it.

Melissa Dib
Law Graduate | Mentor | Educator

Melissa Dib is a passionate legal educator and mentor, committed to helping students build confidence, practical skills, and clarity in their legal studies. She recently completed a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) and currently works as a paralegal at Wotton + Kearney in class actions and commercial litigation.
​
Melissa brings a diverse background in student mentoring, advocacy, and legal education. She has supported student success through her role as a senior mentor in the UTS Business School Mentoring Program and has presented on strategies to improve academic collaboration and engagement.
Her advocacy experience includes mooting, negotiation, and legal policy work — from contributing to law reform submissions with the NSW Council for Civil Liberties to being part of the taskforce writing to the United Nations on Gendered Violence through the Young Diplomats Society. Melissa was also a finalist for the 2023 Female Law Student of the Year Award.
At Lawcademy, Melissa combines her strong academic foundation and real-world experience to empower law students with the tools they need to thrive — both inside and outside the classroom.

What skills will I learn?

You will be learning a toolkit of skills around organising and effective study that you can adapt into your own study habits after!

How much preparation do I need to do?

There will be some pre-work to help you get the most from our live session. It won't take any longer than 30 minutes each day to sit, reflect and journal (no hard thinking, we promise!)

Is there homework?
​
​No homework, but we hope to spark some inspiration in you and will set you up with an accountability buddy/buddies after to help track your progress!​​​

Is this only for first year students?
​​
No, this is for all students, regardless of how far along you are in your degree

Will you just talk at me on the day?
​
Absolutely not, the day will be an interactive opportunity for you to build and reflect on your skills!
